What a fabulous evening! A huge Thank you to Abdul Abdullah who was incredibly engaging and inspiring for all members of his Audience.

Abdul Abdullah is an artist originally from Perth whose practice explores the identity and experience of marginalised members of the Australian community. His works are driven by symbolism and personal experience. As the son of a sixth-generation Australian and a Malaysian Muslim, he offers a unique perspective into ideas about contemporary Australian culture and what it means to be a young Australian Muslim today. He has been the recipient of various grants and awards including the Blake Prize for Human Justice in 2011 and he has been a finalist in the Archibald Prize four times and well as twice the judge of the Young Archies awards. He has also given a TED TALK about combatting prejudice with art and is our guest at our next DHSVAD ARTALK event!

This is a must for our senior Visual Arts students (who can attend for free) and all creatives and supporters in our local community are encouraged to attend.

Monies raised from ARTALKS directly fund new equipment for Visual Arts and Design students at our school.

THURSDAY 8TH AUGUST 2019 6.30 – 8.30pm $20 adults // $10 students, DHSVAD students free
